8 Months, Pumpkins and Mobility!

What a busy, busy month we've had.  We've been traveling all over the place again and while it's fun to see everyone, we're glad to be home for a good long while.  Traveling with a little one is exhausting!  Natalie has been a trooper though.  We've had her completely off schedule and she's really been so good to us.  She had a couple rough nights when we were to New Jersey for a family reunion, but that's about it.  We thought we might see a tooth pop through soon after that trip, but we nothing so far.  Oh well, it's not really keeping her from chowing down on everything in sight.  And I'm not really complaining too much since teeth and nursing can be a painful combination!
Natalie has been busy, busy the past month.  The big news is that she started crawling!  It's been really fun to watch her figure that out.  Apparently she started crawling about a month ago at daycare but she would act like she didn't know how at home, little bugger!  Well apparently crawling isn't enough for her.  She's decided to start pulling up on anything and everything.  We had to lower her crib mattress since she was pulling up in there too.  Slow down, kid!  She is also clapping, which is adorable and waving... though she doesn't necessarily wave at appropriate times.  As I mentioned, she's still eating really well and especially is enjoying any kind of meat, as long as it isn't pureed.  I've been making all her food and tried to puree chicken once.  A first and definitely a last.  That seriously triggered my gag reflex and Natalie didn't really care for it either.  She prefers to gum on little bits.  I really don't blame her!
This weekend we were able to get out and enjoy some of the beautiful fall weather we've been having.  Natalie got to take her very first hayride and pick out her first pumpkin.  She loved the big orange pumpkins and wanted to pick them all up!

Natalie selected her pumpkin!

She really wanted to pick it up
